It's very easy to get directed down the wrong path when it comes to building your home. That's why a lot of people choose to go the DIY route. Your gut instinct is right to be on guard and not trust just anyone to help you with one of the biggest financial decisions in most people's lives, which is building their family home.
Most people start by finding an architect and having them create plans. After the plans are drafted, then what? Find a contractor to provide both a material and labor quote, send the plans, and have them bid the job and schedule material delivery? That's the most popular route.
